Rio Ferdinand invited midfielder Luka Modric to play for Manchester United.
I talked to him before he left for Real Madrid, because I always did, I was almost an agent. If a football player became available for transfer or was about to leave from somewhere, I always believed that somehow I could lure him to us.
I remember talking to Modric and asking if he was really leaving Tottenham. He confirmed, but was not yet sure where exactly he would go.

But nothing happened. Coach Ferguson had already agreed with Kagawa, I think, or with someone else, so Modric went to Real Madrid, and the rest is history. But I never thought that he would achieve what he achieved! What a player! - said the ex-defender on the air of his YouTube channel.
