70-year-old Simmons has played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball with the uniforms of the St. Louis Cardinals (1968-1980), Milwaukee Brewers (1981-1985) and Atlanta Braves (1986-1988). The catcher finishes his career with an average batting ratio. 285 with 248 home runs and 1389 RBI and has eight appearances in the Star Game (1972-1974, 1977-1979, 1981, 1983).
Marvin Miller and Ted Simmons will be inducted into the Hall of Fame Ceremony on July 26, 2020. Graduates `20 will include all former players who collect at least 75% of the votes of the Baseball Journalists Association of America(BBWAA).
